Kampen

It’s killing me to restrain myself to one photo per entry. Yesterday Katherine, Elizabeth and I chanced the bus system to go to Kampen, a city on the IJssel River south of where we’re staying. I say chanced because there aren’t paper copies of the bus schedules; it’s all online, and any Internet time we get is quick and pressured. My tablet won’t save pages and neither does Tim’s iPad. So striking out on the bus is a little random since there’s no way to know for sure what the times and connections are. We had two changes on the way to Kampen. I was pleased and a little surprised that we made it there and back with little trouble. Thank goodness most of the bus drivers speak English.

Kampen is a very old city dating back to the twelve hundreds. We wandered along the riverfront, through the older church, and around one of the medieval gates. Oh, and also through Hema, sort of a tiny Ikea, and through a toy store. Elizabeth is now desperate for an orange Holland jersey. šŸ™‚
