The Mennonite church in Giethoorn

I had hoped to do some investigation of our Mennonite-Dutch heritage on this trip, but a combination of the lack of Internet and easy transportation has made that difficult to say the least. I’m glad we were able to go through this Mennonite church in the charming little canal town of Giethoorn. We knew when we saw the sign on the wall outside that it was neither Reformed nor Catholic, and when I looked up the word in the dictionary, the definition said Baptist. It’s not a very precise dictionary (sometimes it’s better to stay away from those free iPhone apps!) and once we got inside and saw the literature, it was obvious that this was actually an Anabaptist church.
