More Leiden

I liked Leiden far more than Amsterdam. I think it has all the charm without nearly as much junk to wade through. It’s also compact and walkable.

Taking over City Hall.

Margaret and Elizabeth (and friend) checking out a reconstruction of Rembrandt’s self portrait. He was born across the street from this square, though the actual house was torn down about a hundred years ago. We had an aha moment realizing that his last name meant “from Rhine,” since the Rhine flows through Leiden near this spot.
